Die ersten zwei Woche vorbei / two weeks passed......

Und wieder ist eine Woche vorbei... An sich ist nicht viel passiert, außer dass die Spannung steigt, weil morgen die Uni beginnt. Ich werd mich dann in der Früh mit Pierre treffen und ausloten, wo wir was machen können. Letztlich hat hier von den ERASMUS-Leuten nämlich keiner von irgendwas eine Ahnung und wie bereits erwähnt war die Inforveranstaltung auch nich so 100% erleuchtend. Ich denke, man wird's herausfinden und schon noch dahinterkommen... Hier noch ein paar Bilder von den letzten Tagen:
Erstens vom ersten Pokerabend mit Ana, Alejandro und ihrem Freund Manú. Dann noch ein paar Bilder vom Albaycín, wo ich jetzt schon recht oft war. Einmal auf eigene Faust, einmal mit Lorenzo und Jan, und dann nochmal mit der sogenannten "Ruta Literaria", die ich beim Granada-Quiz gewonnen hab. War auch ganz nett. Und das ehemals Arabische Viertel gibt ja auch echt was her....

And another week has passed... not a lot has happened here, at least stuff that would be exceptionally noteworthy. But, tension is rising since classes start tomorrow. I'll go meet Pierre in the morning then in order to find out what we can do and where and when. Of all the ERASMUS people, hardly anyone has so much as a clue and, as I mentioned in my last post, the Orientation thing wasn't all that illuminating. I guess we'll find everything out somehow eventually. A bit further down a few photos from the last days:
First, our first poker evening with Ana, Alex, and their friend Manú. After that a few more photos from the Albaycín, where I have been quite often now. Once on my own, second time with Lorenzo, and a third time for the so-called "ruta literaria"; I could go there because I was one of the winners of the Granada quiz. It was pretty neat. And, really, the Arabic Quarter of Granada is really worth many visits...

So, also jetzt bin ich gut eine Woche hier und hab mich auch schon einigermaßen eingelebt. Die ersten Orientierungstage waren ganz in Ordnung, zwar nicht so unglaublich interessant wie es hätte sein können, dafür konnte man aber ein paar andere internationale und ERASMUS-Studenten treffen. Seit Montag war ich auch schon oft mit Lorenzo aus Italien, Jan aus Berlin und Pierre aus Frankreich unterwegs. Franzose und Italiener können (vorhersehbarerweise) kein Englisch, was auch gut ist. Dazu versteh ich mich super mit meinen spanischen Mitbewohnern Irene, Alex und Ana und hab dazu noch einige andere Spanier (vornehmlich deren Freunde kennengelernt (Paco und Manú).
Gestern war die erste ERASMUS-Party, zu der wir aber doch nicht gegangen sind. Stattdessen gingen wir lieber in einen anderen Club, der uns empfohlen worden war, mit Pierre, Catleen (Frankreich), Neena (Finnland), Lorenzo, Jan, Maura, Cristina und Enrique (alle Spanier). War ganz witzig.
Nur an den spanischen Lebensrhythmus muss man sich gewöhnen... vor 2 Uhr ist in den Diskos eigentlich nie was los, dafür gehts aber mindestens bis 6 Uhr früh. Zwischen halb elf und halb zwölf abends wird erst gegessen... Naja. Tapas-Essen ist auch wieder so toll wie vor zwei Jahren. Man bestellt sich z.B. ein Bier und dazu gibts eine Kleinigkeit (die aber nicht immer so kleins sein muss) und man zahlt 2 Euro... Lächerlich billig.
Heute war Reunión an der Facultad de Traducción e Interpretación. Uns wurde gesagt, wie man sich für Kurse einschreibt und das ist ja echt ziemlich kompliziert... aber das wird schon!

Well, I have been here for more than a week now and I can say that I've gradually grown used to Spanish life in Granada... I even start understanding what people are saying (the Andalusian accent is really heavy!). On Monday the Orientation Week for International Students started. Monday's meeting was not as interesting as it could have been but at least I got to know a few other students, mainly from ERASMUS (for those who do not know: ERASMUS is an exchange programe heavily subsidized by the European Union and promotes the academic mobility within the EU member states and countries associated with the Union).
Since Monday, I have been hanging out a lot with Lorenzo from Italy, Jan from Berlin, and Pierre from France. The French and the Italien are - quite expectable and not surprising at all - not capable of speaking English so this is actually good since we can all practice our Spanish better that way. Also, I am getting along very well with my Spanish roommates Irene, Alex, and Ana, and I have also got to known some of their friends which is nice too.
It is really hard to get used to the Spanish "timetable" though. When going out, you normally don't show up at a club befor 2 a.m. and the party goes well into the morning, with 8 a.m. being the maximum. The Spanish have dinner roughly between 10 and 11.30 p.m. which is also something one has to get used to.
Going out for Tapas is still as great as it has always been... you go to a bar, order a beer and you get a small portion of food as well. It comes with the drink and all that for 2 euros, which, compared to Germany, is ridiculously cheap.
Yesterday was the first ERASMUS party but although we had been planning on going, we did not. Instead, we went to another club with with a bunch of International and Spanish students. Was quite nice.
Today we had to attend the first meeting at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting. They told us how to enroll into classes and, my gosh, I would never have expected it to be so complicated. Must be university bureaucracy, eh?

So, am Dienstag bin ich gut über Madrid und Málaga in Granada angekommen.
Am Busbahnhof dort hat mich dann Ana Gómez Hidalgo abgeholt und mit dem Bus ging es dann ab zur Wohnung.
Ich wohn in einer WG mit vier Leuten, Ana, Alejandro und Irene. Alle drei sind sehr nett und sympathisch.

Internet gab's auch sofort, Gott sei Dank! Am ersten Tag hab ich so gut wie nichts verstanden, der andalusische Akzent ist schon sehr stark. Zum Beispiel wird fast grundsätzlich das "s" aus- bzw. weggelassen und sie verschlucken auch einige Silben... ARGH!
Aber seitdem geht's jeden Tag besser und jetzt versteh ich schon so gut wie alles. An den spanischen Tagesrhythmus hab ich mich einigermaßen angepasst. Die gehen nie vor 3 ins Bett (wahrscheinlich aber, weil noch keine Uni ist).......
Ich hab auch übrigens schon Poker gelernt...! :D

Am zweiten Tag hab ich einen Spaziergang durch das arabische Viertel Albaycín gemacht, bis zum Mirador San Nicolás, von wo aus man einen tollen Blick auf die Alhambra hat. Den Weg wusste ich noch von 2008, als wir mit Juan Pedro dort hinaufgegangen sind. Temperaturen bisher zwei Tage lang über 30°C, dann zwei Tage Regen und Gewitter. In der Nacht wird es auch jetzt kühler, die ersten beiden Tage waren es immer noch über 20°C...

Morgen beginnen die Orientierungstage, bin schon gespannt.
